# Import Facebook Ads Manager data into Mammoth

> Connect Mammoth to Facebook Ads Manager with a Facebook sign-in, pick ad account tables and columns, and keep late corrections with the right update method.

The Facebook Ads Manager connector imports advertising data from your ad accounts into Mammoth as a dataset. You sign in to Facebook, so there are no API keys to manage. Open it from **Data Library** > **New dataset** > **Connectors**, search for **Facebook** and click **Facebook Ads Manager**. Project Admins create the connection; Project Editors can start datasets from a connection the project already has. Which connectors you can add depends on your plan.

## What you can bring in from Facebook Ads

- Tables for the **Ads Manager** ad accounts the signed-in account can access, and the columns you tick.
- Data you ask for in the **Chat**. The agent picks tables and columns for you.

The dataset can refresh daily or only when you ask.

## Before you connect Facebook Ads Manager

You need a Facebook account with access to the **Ads Manager** ad accounts you want to import data from.

## Connect Facebook Ads Manager to Mammoth

1. Go to the **Data Library**, click **New dataset**, and choose **Connectors**.
2. Search for **Facebook** and click the **Facebook Ads Manager** tile. The connector workspace opens with the **Chat** connecting Facebook Ads.
3. In the chat's card, click the button to sign in to Facebook. Mammoth sends you to Facebook in the same browser tab.
4. Sign in with the account that has access to your ad accounts and authorize Mammoth. You're returned to Mammoth.

If you already have a Facebook Ads connection, pick it under **Your connections** in the launcher instead. See [Connect a database or app](https://mammoth.io/docs/learn/get-data-in/connect-a-source/) for the shared steps.

## Pick Facebook Ads tables and columns

1. In **Tables**, click a table to see its columns and sample rows.
2. Tick the columns you want. They gather in **Your table**.
3. Click **Preview 100 rows** to check the result.

## Save Facebook Ads data as a dataset

1. Click **Save as dataset**.
2. Enter a **Dataset name**, for example *"Facebook Ads Campaign Performance"*, and pick the folder under **Save in**.
3. Under **Keep it up to date**, choose **Daily** or **Manual**.
4. Click **Save**.

Choosing **Daily** creates a [Dataset Refresh](https://mammoth.io/docs/learn/automate/refresh-a-dataset/) automation that you can reschedule later.

## Choose a Facebook Ads update method that keeps corrections

After the dataset is saved, its **Update method** offers these options:

| Update method | What it does |
| --- | --- |
| **Replace all data** | Rebuilds the dataset from the source on every refresh |
| **Add new rows only** | Keeps your rows and adds rows above the last value of a **Key column** |
| **Keep only the newest rows** | Empties the dataset, then brings in rows since the last refresh (needs a **Key column**) |

Facebook keeps correcting the numbers of recent days after it first reports them. With a date key column, each day is imported only once, so those corrections never arrive. Choose **Replace all data** to always have the corrected numbers. Mammoth shows the same warning when you pick a date key column for this source.

## Troubleshoot Facebook Ads connections

| Symptom | Likely cause | Fix |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Authorization fails | You closed the tab or denied access | Start the connection again; Mammoth returns you after sign-in |
| Authorization fails or ad accounts are missing | You signed in with the wrong Facebook account | Authorize with the account that has access to the ad accounts you need |
| No ad accounts visible | The account can't see the ad account | Confirm access to the ad account in Ads Manager |
| Recent days don't match Ads Manager | A date key column skips late corrections | Switch the **Update method** to **Replace all data** |
