# Import Google Ads data into Mammoth

> Connect Mammoth to Google Ads with a Google sign-in, choose an ad account, import campaign and ad group reporting data, and blend ad spend with sales data.

The Google Ads connector brings your advertising data into Mammoth as a dataset, so you can blend ad spend with sales or CRM data. You sign in with Google; there are no keys to copy. Open it from **Data Library** > **New dataset** > **Connectors** and search for **Google Ads**. Project Admins create the connection; Project Editors can start datasets from a connection the project already has. Which connectors you can add depends on your plan.

## What you can bring in from Google Ads

- Tables for the Google Ads account you choose, such as campaigns, ad groups, ads, budgets and conversion actions (for example `campaign`, `ad_group`, `ad_group_ad`, `campaign_budget` and `conversion_action`).
- Only the columns you tick.
- A report you describe to the agent in the chat.

The dataset can refresh daily or only when you ask.

## Before you connect Google Ads

You need a Google account with access to the Google Ads account you want to report on.

## Connect Google Ads to Mammoth

1. Go to the **Data Library**, click **New dataset**, and choose **Connectors**.
2. Search for **Google Ads** and click its tile. The connector workspace opens with the **Chat** showing. See [Connect a database or app](https://mammoth.io/docs/learn/get-data-in/connect-a-source/) for the shared steps.
3. In the chat, click the button to sign in with Google and allow Mammoth access.
4. Under **Choose account**, pick the Google Ads account to read. Mammoth lists accounts that are open and have client accounts; closed accounts are left out.

## Pick Google Ads tables and columns

1. In **Tables**, open a table and tick the columns you want. They gather in **Your table**.
2. Click **Preview 100 rows** to check the data.

You can also ask the agent in the chat for the report you want.

## Save Google Ads data as a dataset

1. Click **Save as dataset**.
2. Enter a **Dataset name** and pick the folder under **Save in**.
3. Under **Keep it up to date**, choose **Daily** or **Manual**.
4. Click **Save**.

## Refresh Google Ads data and choose an update method

Choosing **Daily** creates a [Dataset Refresh](https://mammoth.io/docs/learn/automate/refresh-a-dataset/) automation that you can reschedule later.

After you save, a Google Ads dataset's **Update method** offers two options:

| Update method | What it does |
| --- | --- |
| **Replace all data** | Rebuilds the dataset from the source on every refresh |
| **Add to existing data** | Adds every row the refresh brings in to the rows you already have |

Google Ads refreshes don't use a key column.

## Troubleshoot Google Ads connections

| Symptom | Likely cause | Fix |
| --- | --- | --- |
| An account isn't listed | The account is closed or has no client accounts, or your Google account can't see it | Check the account's status in Google Ads, and sign in with a Google account that can see it |
