# Switch workspaces and find your way around Mammoth

> Switch between Mammoth workspaces, use the left sidebar and account menu, and understand the Workspace suspended, deleted and not found screens.

The workspace switcher at the top of the left sidebar moves you between every workspace you belong to. The bottom of the sidebar holds **Support**, notifications, **Workspace Settings**, **Trash** and your account menu. When a workspace can't be used, Mammoth shows a full-page screen that says why and what you can do.

## Switch workspaces

The switcher shows the current workspace's initial and name, with a down arrow. On a trial, the trial plan and the days left show under the name.

1. Click the workspace name at the top of the left sidebar.
2. Under **All Workspaces**, click the workspace you want.

The current workspace has a check mark. A workspace that is no longer available shows a **Deleted** tag.

The switcher lists workspaces only. To get a new workspace, see [Create, join or delete a workspace](https://mammoth.io/docs/learn/workspace/create/).

## Find your way around the left sidebar

The left sidebar is Mammoth's main navigation. What you see depends on your role: someone who only has dashboards shared with them sees their dashboards, **Support** and the account menu.

| Where | Control | What it does |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Top | Workspace switcher | Switches workspace |
| Top, right of the workspace name | **Collapse navigation** / **Expand navigation** | Shrinks the sidebar to icons, or opens it again |
| Bottom row | **Support** (chat icon) | Opens a support chat with the Mammoth team |
| Bottom row | Notifications (bell) | Opens your notifications. See [Notifications](https://mammoth.io/docs/learn/automate/notifications/) |
| Bottom row | **Workspace Settings** (gear) | Opens [Workspace settings](https://mammoth.io/docs/learn/workspace/settings/) |
| Bottom row | **Trash** | Opens [Trash](https://mammoth.io/docs/learn/organise/trash/) |
| Bottom | Your name and picture (**My account**) | Opens the account menu |

The notifications bell, **Workspace Settings** and **Trash** don't show in Ask mode. Ask is available on Enterprise plans.

## Use the account menu

Click your name at the bottom of the left sidebar to open **My account**. It shows your name and email, with a gear icon, and these options:

| Option | What it does |
| --- | --- |
| Gear icon (on a phone, **Profile Settings**) | Opens [Your profile](https://mammoth.io/docs/learn/workspace/profile/) |
| **Documentation** | Opens the Mammoth documentation in a new tab |
| **Mammoth website** | Opens mammoth.io in a new tab |
| **Log out** | Signs you out |

When the sidebar is collapsed, the account menu also shows your workspace's storage use.

## Understand workspace suspended, deleted and not found screens

When you open a workspace you can't use right now, Mammoth shows a full-page screen instead of the app. While the workspace powers up, it shows a dialog instead.

| Screen | What it means | Options |
| --- | --- | --- |
| **Workspace suspended** | "This workspace has been suspended. Please contact support to restore access." | **Contact support**, **Switch workspace**, **Log out**, **Create new workspace** |
| **This workspace has been deleted** | "It is no longer available. Contact the workspace owner if you think this is a mistake." | **Contact support**, **Switch workspace**, **Log out**, **Create new workspace** |
| **Workspace not found** | "This workspace doesn't exist, or you don't have access to it." | **Switch workspace**, **Log out**, **Create new workspace** |
| **This workspace is temporarily unavailable** | Its data is being moved or upgraded, usually for a few minutes. Your data is safe | **Try again**, **Switch workspace**, **Log out** |
| **Your workspace is powering up** | "We are getting your data ready. Just a moment..." The workspace opens on its own when ready | None needed: wait |

**Switch workspace** shows only when you belong to another workspace. **Create new workspace** shows only when every other workspace you belong to is also suspended, or you have no other workspace. See [Create a new workspace from an unavailable screen](https://mammoth.io/docs/learn/workspace/create/).

For a workspace that is view-only or read-only because of its plan or billing, see [Trials, plan limits and view-only mode](https://mammoth.io/docs/learn/workspace/trials-and-plan-limits/).

## When you're not in any project

If you belong to a workspace but to none of its projects (for example, you were invited without a project), Mammoth opens an empty page instead of the Data Library:

- **If you can create projects**, it shows **Create your first Project** and a **Create Project** button. Click it to open **New Project** and set up your first project.
- **Otherwise**, it shows **You are not in a project yet** and "Ask a workspace owner or admin to add you to a project."

See [Create and manage projects](https://mammoth.io/docs/learn/workspace/projects/).
