A CRM export, before anything touches it. Four problems in six rows, and every one of them breaks a chart.

Amount is text once a currency symbol appears · Source has three spellings of one value · Close date mixes two formats · Region splits on case. Chart this and you get six sources and four regions.

Each fix is a step you can see and re-open, not a formula buried in a cell. When next month's export lands, the same steps run again.

  1. 01Strip currency, cast to number. $52,300 and 48000 become the same type. n/a becomes empty, not zero, so it stays out of the average.
  2. 02Standardise Source. inbound, Inbound and In-bound collapse to one value. Three bars become one.
  3. 03Parse both date formats. 19/03/2026 and 2026-03-19 resolve to one date column that will actually sort.
  4. 04Upper-case Region. emea and EMEA stop being two regions.
  5. 05Derive Weighted Amount. Amount × probability, computed once here instead of in five different charts.

Five steps, kept. Change one and everything downstream recomputes, including the published board.
