BigQuery MCP

BigQuery MCP: ask Claude or ChatGPT about your BigQuery tables.

Connect BigQuery to Mammoth, then add Mammoth to Claude or ChatGPT. Ask about revenue by product, events by week and order value by country in plain words. Mammoth calculates the answer, so the numbers are exact.

Your two options

Two ways to connect BigQuery to your AI assistant

Mammoth answers questions about BigQuery and your other data. Google's own server works inside BigQuery. You can add both to the same assistant.

Option 1

Mammoth

Ask about BigQuery and your other data. Mammoth calculates the answer, so the numbers are exact. Included on every plan.

You ask
“How much revenue did each product bring in last month?”
Option 2

Google's own server

Runs SQL on your tables, up to 3,000 rows a result. Uses your Google Cloud roles and permissions. Google runs it, so there's nothing to host.

You ask
“List the tables in our analytics dataset.”

Option 1 · Mammoth

What you can ask about your BigQuery tables

Pick a question to see what your assistant gets back.

More questions, by team

Pick your team, then copy a question into Claude or ChatGPT.

ClaudeChatGPTVS Code
  • How many events did each product area log last week?
  • How many active users did we have each day this month?
  • What's the average session length by platform?
  • Which tables grew the most this month?

Copy a question and paste it into your assistant once Mammoth is connected.

Option 1 · Mammoth

Ask about BigQuery and your other data together

Connect BigQuery and any of Mammoth’s 100+ other sources, like Salesforce, Jira or Stripe. Join them once in Mammoth, and your assistant can answer questions that cover all of them.

Example: BigQuery with Salesforce

Which Salesforce accounts use our product the most?

BigQuery holds the product events and Salesforce holds the accounts. Mammoth matches them on the account ID.

Option 2 · Google's own server

How to set up the official BigQuery MCP server

Google runs a remote BigQuery MCP server, switched on when the BigQuery API is. Your assistant can list datasets and tables and run SQL, with results capped at 3,000 rows. It uses your Google Cloud roles and permissions.

  1. Step 1

    Check your access

You need the MCP Tool User role, plus BigQuery Job User and BigQuery Data Viewer.

  2. https://bigquery.googleapis.com/mcp
    Step 2

    Add Google's server

Add this address to your assistant and choose OAuth sign-in.

  3. Step 3

    Sign in with Google

Sign in, then ask about your datasets and tables.

Common questions about BigQuery MCP

Is there an official BigQuery MCP server?
Yes. Google runs a remote BigQuery MCP server, switched on when the BigQuery API is. Your assistant can list datasets and tables and run SQL, with results capped at 3,000 rows. It uses your Google Cloud roles and permissions. Use it to work inside BigQuery. Use Mammoth to ask questions across BigQuery and your other data.
Do I need to write SQL?
Not with Mammoth. You ask in plain words, and Mammoth works out the totals, counts and averages. With Google's server, your assistant writes and runs the SQL.
How does my assistant get to my BigQuery data?
You connect BigQuery to Mammoth once. Mammoth keeps a copy of the data and updates it on demand or on a schedule. Your assistant asks Mammoth, not BigQuery.
Are the numbers right?
Yes. Mammoth calculates totals, counts and averages itself and gives your assistant the result. The AI model doesn't add up the rows.
Which AI assistants work with it?
Claude on the web, Claude Desktop and Claude Code, ChatGPT, and VS Code. Cursor can't sign in yet, so use the Mammoth CLI there.
What does it cost?
The MCP server is on every Mammoth plan, including Free. Connecting BigQuery needs a paid plan.
Do I paste a password or API key into the chat?
No. You connect BigQuery inside Mammoth and sign in to Mammoth from your assistant. No password passes through the model.
Can my assistant change things by mistake?
Every tool is labelled as read-only, a change you can undo, or one that deletes or sends data out. You can set your assistant to ask you before it uses anything that isn't read-only.

Ask your AI assistant about your BigQuery tables.
