Mammoth vs Claude Dashboards
A dashboard from your warehouse, or the work that gets data ready for one.
Claude Dashboards turn a question into a live dashboard, and they are quick and impressive once your data sits in a warehouse. Claude writes a query for each chart and runs it there. What it assumes is that someone has already loaded, cleaned and modelled that data. Mammoth is that work: it brings data in from files, apps and databases, prepares it in steps anyone can read, keeps it current, and publishes the dashboard on top, including custom charts you describe in words. Plenty of teams will use both.

Where the prep lives
Every dashboard needs its data prepared. The question is where that work lives.
With an AI assistant, the preparation is either a stack someone else built, or instructions the model follows again each time. In Mammoth it's recorded once, as steps anyone can read and re-run.
Claude Dashboards
Beta- Where the prep lives
- Upstream, before Claude sees the data: in a warehouse, modelled with dbt or SQL by someone who writes it.
- When the data changes
- Each chart's query runs again against the warehouse.
- Where the data lives
- Your warehouse, or an app you've connected.
ChatGPT Work
- Where the prep lives
- In the prompt. The model is asked to check for missing rows and mismatches, and does it again on every scheduled run.
- When the data changes
- A scheduled task checks the source again and updates the dashboard.
- Where the data lives
- Your spreadsheet, Drive file or warehouse.
Mammoth
- Where the prep lives
- In a pipeline: steps recorded once, that anyone can read, review and re-run. Describe the change or pick a step.
- When the data changes
- The pipeline re-runs on its schedule, and every dashboard on it follows.
- Where the data lives
- In Mammoth. 10 GB is included on every paid plan.

- Claude Motion turns a dashboard into a short animated explainer
Already use Claude? Give it prepared data.
Add Mammoth to Claude as a connector and Claude works on your cleaned, current Mammoth data instead of a raw export. It's on every Mammoth plan.
So which should you pick?
Genuinely depends on the job. Here's how we'd decide.
Choose Claude Dashboards if…
- Your data is already modelled in a warehouse
- You want quick, exploratory answers without leaving Claude
- Someone on the team maintains the models upstream
Choose Mammoth if…
- Your data lives in files, apps and databases, not a warehouse
- It needs joining, cleaning and checking before anyone should trust it
- You want one dashboard the whole team opens, kept current by a pipeline
Test it against your own data.
