Questions people ask

Can Adobe Acrobat do this?

Yes, if you pay for Acrobat: Export a PDF, then choose CSV. It works best on a clean table on one page. Tables that run across pages often come back in pieces.

What is the best PDF to CSV converter?

It depends on the file. Tabula is free for text PDFs. This one also reads scans and gives you every table on every page.

It's a bank statement.

Use the bank statement converter. It's the same tool, with steps written for statements.

Does it work on a scanned PDF?

Yes. A clean scan reads better than a photo taken at an angle, so check a few rows.

My table runs across dozens of pages. Do I get all of it?

Yes, up to 100 pages. Each table comes back on its own, with its page and row count, so you can check nothing was missed.

What if the PDF isn't really a table?

Then there's nothing to turn into rows. It looks for rows and columns, so a page of prose gives you little back.

Do I need an account?

No. You only enter a business email, so we can send you the file.

What is a CSV file?

A plain text file with one row per line and commas between the columns. Excel, Google Sheets and most accounting and database tools can open or import it.

How do I open the CSV in Google Sheets?

In Google Sheets, choose File, then Import, then Upload, and pick the file. Or choose Excel instead of CSV at the last step and open that.

Does it work on a Mac?

Yes. It runs in your web browser, so it works the same on a Mac, Windows or Linux. There's nothing to install.
