How do I find negative keywords in Google Ads?

Open the search terms report, which lists what people typed before clicking your ad, and look for terms with spend and no conversions. Those are candidates to add as negative keywords, so the ads stop showing for them.

  • Search term
  • Cost
  • Conversions

The steps it runs

  1. 1Match columns
  2. 2Terms that spent and never converted

Every step is an ordinary Mammoth step you can open and change.

Negative keyword finder: questions

Should I add every term it lists?
Read them first. A term with no conversions yet may still be relevant; the threshold keeps out terms that have not spent enough to judge.
Does it update by itself?
Yes. The template becomes an ordinary workflow in Mammoth. When your data refreshes, from a connector, a scheduled pull or a new file, every step runs again and the result table updates.
Can I change the steps?
Every step is an ordinary Mammoth step you can open and edit. Mammoth remembers which steps came from the template, so an update never overwrites your changes.
Do my column names have to match?
No. You point the template at your columns once. Mammoth suggests a match for each one and asks only when it is unsure.
