What is Pareto analysis?

Pareto analysis ranks items by their contribution and adds up their shares, to find the few that make up most of the total, often about 20% of items giving 80% of sales. ABC analysis is the same ranking cut into three classes: A, B and C.

Pareto (ABC) analysis: questions

Can I use it for ABC inventory analysis?
Yes. Point it at your products and their sales value (or usage value) and each product gets its class. Change the cuts from 80% and 95% if your policy uses different ones.
Does it work on customers instead of products?
Yes. The item can be any column: customers for customer concentration, suppliers for spend, defect types for quality.
Does it update by itself?
Yes. The template becomes an ordinary workflow in Mammoth. When your data refreshes, from a connector, a scheduled pull or a new file, every step runs again and the result table updates.
Can I change the steps?
Every step is an ordinary Mammoth step you can open and edit. Mammoth remembers which steps came from the template, so an update never overwrites your changes.
Do my column names have to match?
No. You point the template at your columns once. Mammoth suggests a match for each one and asks only when it is unsure.
