How is sales velocity calculated?

Sales velocity is open deals times win rate times average deal size, divided by the average sales cycle in days. It is the revenue the pipeline is producing per day, and it shows which of the four levers is holding a team back.

Sales velocity: questions

Which deals count?
Open deals are every deal not in the won or lost stage. Win rate, deal size and cycle length come from closed deals: won against won plus lost.
Is it the same as pipeline velocity?
Yes. Pipeline velocity, deal velocity and sales velocity are names for the same formula.
Does it update by itself?
Yes. The template becomes an ordinary workflow in Mammoth. When your data refreshes, from a connector, a scheduled pull or a new file, every step runs again and the result table updates.
Can I change the steps?
Every step is an ordinary Mammoth step you can open and edit. Mammoth remembers which steps came from the template, so an update never overwrites your changes.
Do my column names have to match?
No. You point the template at your columns once. Mammoth suggests a match for each one and asks only when it is unsure.
