What is a cash reconciliation?

A cash reconciliation compares the cash and card takings recorded at the till with the deposits that reach the bank, so short deposits, missing bank runs and counting mistakes show up while they are still easy to trace.

The steps it runs

  1. 1Match columns: Takings lines

Cash reconciliation: questions

What if a deposit comes in short?
The day's takings and the deposit no longer agree, so the takings show as not banked and the deposit as not in takings. The pair sits side by side by date, which makes the gap easy to see.
Does it update by itself?
Yes. The template becomes an ordinary workflow in Mammoth. When your data refreshes, from a connector, a scheduled pull or a new file, every step runs again and the result table updates.
Can I change the steps?
Every step is an ordinary Mammoth step you can open and edit. Mammoth remembers which steps came from the template, so an update never overwrites your changes.
Do my column names have to match?
No. You point the template at your columns once. Mammoth suggests a match for each one and asks only when it is unsure.
