What is payment reconciliation?

Payment reconciliation checks that the money a payment processor says it paid out (Stripe, PayPal, Shopify Payments) arrived in your bank, payout by payout. A payout is the sum of many payments less fees, so it is matched on its net amount.

Payment reconciliation: questions

Does it match single customer payments or payouts?
Payouts, the lump sums your processor sends to the bank. They are what the bank statement shows, so they are what can be checked against it.
What counts as a match?
The same amount, landing within a few days of the payout date (3 by default, and you can change it). Each payout and deposit is used once.
Does it update by itself?
Yes. The template becomes an ordinary workflow in Mammoth. When your data refreshes, from a connector, a scheduled pull or a new file, every step runs again and the result table updates.
Can I change the steps?
Every step is an ordinary Mammoth step you can open and edit. Mammoth remembers which steps came from the template, so an update never overwrites your changes.
Do my column names have to match?
No. You point the template at your columns once. Mammoth suggests a match for each one and asks only when it is unsure.
