How do you reconcile ADP payroll to the GL?

Export the ADP payroll register and the GL payroll postings from ADP. Mammoth sums both by pay date, joins the totals, and shows a status for each date. You get Agrees when the totals match, Missing when the GL is short, and Extra when the GL is high.

Payroll GL reconciliation: questions

Which export should you use from ADP?
Use the payroll register export for the payroll detail, and the GL postings export for the expense entries. If your file names differ, use the exports that contain pay date and the amounts you want to compare.
What happens to rows that do not match?
Rows are kept in the result, with a status that shows the difference. If one side has no matching pay date, that row is still shown so you can see whether it is missing or extra.
How do you change the reconciliation rules?
You change the rules in words by saying what to group by, what to sum, and what to compare. For example, you can change the date field, add or remove amount columns, or compare a different set of payroll totals.
