Payroll journal flags: questions

Which export should you use from Gusto and QuickBooks?
Use the export that shows each payroll run from Gusto and the export that shows payroll journal entries from QuickBooks. The workflow needs one row per run or journal entry, with the amounts you want to compare.
What happens to runs that do not match a journal entry?
They are still shown in the result. A run can be marked Missing journal, Duplicate posting, or Amount off, so you can review the difference instead of losing the row.
How do you change the matching rules?
You change the rules by editing the steps in words. For example, you can change how runs are grouped, which amounts are compared, and which status is assigned when values do not line up.
