Shopify connector

The Shopify connector imports e-commerce data from your Shopify store into Mammoth as a dataset. Authenticate with OAuth using your Shopify store URL.

Before you start

You need:

  • A Shopify store
  • A Shopify account that is allowed to authorize third-party app access to the store

Step 1: Select the Shopify connector

  1. In Mammoth, go to Data Library and click + New Dataset
  2. Select Connectors
  3. Search for Shopify
  4. Click the Shopify tile

Step 2: Enter your store URL

Before the OAuth flow begins, Mammoth asks for your Shopify store URL.

Shopify New Connection form with a Shop URL field and a Connect button
FieldDescriptionExample
Shop URLYour Shopify store's .myshopify.com URL, including https://https://mystore.myshopify.com

Enter your store URL—use the .myshopify.com format, not a custom domain. Then click Connect to start the OAuth flow. If the value isn't a valid URL, Mammoth shows "Please enter a valid URL".

Step 3: Authorize in Shopify

Mammoth sends you to your Shopify store's authorization page in the same browser tab. Review the requested permissions and authorize Mammoth.

You're redirected back to Mammoth automatically with the connection active.

Tip: Finding your .myshopify.com URL. Every Shopify store has a permanent .myshopify.com URL, even if you use a custom domain. It's the domain Shopify lists as your "myshopify.com domain."

Step 4: Select Shopify data and query

Select the connection under Existing Connections to open the query builder. The List of tables panel shows the tables this connector exposes. Click a table to load a SELECT * query for it and its preview.

Write a custom Shopify query

Edit the SQL in the Enter SQL query editor and click Run. Use the table and column names shown in the table list and the preview.

See Understanding data preview & query for a full guide.

Step 5: Save the Shopify dataset

  1. Enter a dataset name in the Save table as field (e.g., "Shopify Orders 2024")
  2. Check the Update Method (the default is Replace all data). To change it, click the edit icon, pick an option, and click Save changes:
    • Replace all data—Replaces all existing data
    • Add new data—Adds new data based on a unique sequential column
    • Replace with new data—Replaces existing data with new data based on a unique sequential column For Add new data and Replace with new data, also choose a Key column—a numeric or date column with incrementing values, such as an ID or a date.
  3. Click Save as dataset. When the dataset is saved, click Done

Keep Shopify data up to date

Set up a Dataset Refresh automation to re-import your Shopify data on a schedule.

For large stores, you can choose the Add new data update method with a Key column (a numeric or date column with incrementing values) so each refresh adds only new records instead of replacing the full dataset.

Troubleshoot Shopify connections

Authorization does not complete

  • Mammoth sends you to Shopify in the same browser tab and returns you to Mammoth afterwards. If you close the tab or deny access, start the connection again
  • Confirm you entered the .myshopify.com URL, not your custom domain (for example, use https://mystore.myshopify.com, not www.mystore.com)

Your account cannot authorize the app

  • Ask the store owner to authorize Mammoth, or to give your Shopify account permission to authorize third-party apps.
