Export & share
Once you've transformed your data in Mammoth, three controls in the View toolbar get it to the people and systems that need it. This section is for analysts and administrators who share data; start with the table in Which option should I use? to pick one.
Three toolbar actions
Download button
The download icon (⬇) saves a one-time snapshot of the current View to your computer as CSV or XLSX. Static: reflects data at the moment you click. Use for ad-hoc analysis, offline reporting, or one-time file sharing.
The third option in the dialog, Mammoth Dataset, doesn't download a file. It does a one-time save of the View's current data as a Dataset in your workspace. Unlike Export → Send to Dataset, it creates no pipeline task, so it doesn't refresh when the pipeline runs. Downloads are disabled while you're in edit mode or in a view-only workspace.
→ Download options · Export formats
Export button
Creates a persistent pipeline task that delivers data automatically every time your pipeline runs. The Export menu has two tabs:
Mammoth Managed—Mammoth provisions everything, no credentials needed:
- Send to Dataset—push results into another Dataset, including one in a different Project
- Live link—persistent URL that always serves current data as CSV
- Google BigQuery or PostgreSQL—Mammoth provisions a managed instance and hands you the connection credentials
External Destinations—connect to your own infrastructure:
- Google BigQuery, PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, Amazon Redshift, Elasticsearch, SFTP, SharePoint, Azure Blob Storage, OneDrive, Tableau Server/Cloud, REST API
Which destinations you can use depends on your plan. A destination your plan doesn't include shows a plan label on its card in the Export menu. See Send to destinations.
→ Send to destinations · Live links
Publish button
Opens the create page, where you build a dashboard, presentation, document or Q&A from your View data, then share it by link.
In this section
- Download options—Save a View as CSV, XLSX, or a Mammoth Dataset
- Export formats—Compare the download formats
- Send to destinations—Deliver data to databases, files, and apps after each pipeline run
- Live links—Serve current data as a CSV at a fixed URL
- Publish as Dashboard—Build a shareable AI dashboard from a View
Which option should I use?
| Situation | Best option |
|---|---|
| Someone needs the data once, in a spreadsheet | Download → XLSX |
| Analyst needs raw data to process in a script | Download → CSV |
| BI tool needs to query Mammoth data via URL | Export → Live link |
| Tableau or Power BI needs automatic data delivery | Export → a managed or external database, or Tableau Server/Cloud |
| Stakeholders need a visual dashboard via link | Publish → Publish as Dashboard |
| Push results into another Mammoth Dataset | Export → Send to Dataset |
Auto-sync
Every destination export (and the Live Link task) has an Auto-sync setting. The task card shows whether it is ON or OFF; you change it from the task's options menu. When on (the default), data is delivered automatically each time the pipeline runs. When off, data is held until you release it manually—which gives you a review gate before delivery.
The Monitor panel (left sidebar) lists everything waiting on you under its Needs Attention tab, including Errors, Governance (checkpoint approvals and failed data checks), Pending (data held back by Auto-sync, released with Process for a batch held by an incoming link, or Update for a pending destination update) and Pending Retentions. A Paused tab lists every task you've intentionally left with Auto-sync off. A badge on the Monitor icon shows the count of items needing attention.
→ Send to destinations for full Auto-sync details.
