Results, charts and canvases

The AI Agent is available on Enterprise plans.

When the agent finishes a piece of work, it shows what it made, changed or read as cards in the chat. Charts it draws have their own menu, and suggestions under a reply offer a next step. In Ask mode you can keep charts and answers on canvases in Snippets. For the cards you see before work runs, see Plans, approvals and runs.

Result cards

When a change or a new table is done, a result card says what happened in one headline, for example "Customers is clean: 700 rows", "Orders now has segment: 180 rows", "412 rows are in Linear issues" or "Sent to Snowflake".

PartWhat it does
Row previewThe first rows of the result, with totals where they apply.
AssumptionsA guess that changes the result, shown in amber. Change puts "Change: " and the guess in your message box.
Open tableOpens the view in the Data Editor.
Open in Snowflake ↗For an export, opens the destination's own console where Mammoth has a link for it.
How I built itFolds open to list the steps.
Edited sinceThe table changed after the agent built it. see current opens it.

Up to two next-step chips sit under the card: Chart it, Keep it updated, Do this every day or Keep it clean on every refresh. See Suggestions and chips.

Object cards

Each thing the agent made, changed or read gets a card with its name, Open ↗ and one line of facts.

CardExample facts
Dataset, view"New view", "3 filters added", "500 → 488 rows", "Created 10:42 AM"
DashboardA thumbnail of the board, "1 tile added"
ChartThe chart itself (see Charts in chat)
ExportWhere it sends, "not run yet"
Automation, Scheduled email"not on yet", "paused"
AlertThe rule and "Checks every time the view runs"
Data source connectorConnect
FileDownload

Click a card to open the object. A card that failed reads "Couldn't build Sales summary" with the reason. An object it removed is listed by name under Removed.

Dashboard card actions

Under a dashboard the agent built:

ActionWhat it does
ShareOpens the dashboard's share dialog (see Share a dashboard).
Email it every MondaySends "Email Sales board to me every Monday morning" to the agent. A schedule always waits for your OK, so you see an approval card before anything is set up.

In this chat

In this chat · 6 in the chat header lists everything the chat made, edited, read or removed, grouped as Made, Edited, Read and Removed. Each line shows its kind and turn (for example "View · turn 3") and Open. An empty list says "Nothing made, changed or read yet."

Handoffs to editors

When a job is better done in an editor, the agent shows a handoff card with a link instead of doing it in chat.

LinkOpens
Open data editor →The view in the Data Editor
Open dashboard editor →, Build the dashboard →The dashboard editor
Open automation →The automation
Set up the connection →The connection setup
Generate the dataset →, Add your data →Where you add or generate data
Open the dataset →, Open the folder →That dataset or folder

Your request goes with you

In a chat docked beside an object elsewhere in Mammoth, the agent may suggest a better place for a request. The card says Your request goes with you (or Your request and what I found go with you) and offers Continue in the agent, Continue in the Data Editor or Continue in Automations. Add it here keeps the request in the current chat.

To work with Mammoth from your own coding agent or a script instead, see the Mammoth MCP server and the CLI.

Charts in chat

The agent picks a chart that fits the data: bar and column charts, line and area charts, stacked bars, pie, donut, funnel, pyramid, scatter, bubble, heatmap, treemap and sankey.

  • Bars, Line and Area switch a bar, line or area chart between the three types.
  • Chips under a chart with more than one series show or hide each series.
  • Hover a point to read its value.
  • Expand opens the chart full screen. Press Esc to leave.

Chart options (the ⋯ menu):

OptionWhat it does
View as table / View as chartShows the numbers behind the chart, or the chart again.
Copy chartCopies the chart as an image. Where your browser can't copy images, it downloads one.
Download data (CSV)Downloads the chart's rows. Only shown when you may download data in this workspace.
Download image (PNG)Downloads the chart with its title. If it fails: "Could not download the chart image."

Add to a dashboard

In a Build chat, when your agent access is at the Build level, a chart drawn from a view has Add to a dashboard.

  1. Click Add to a dashboard. Mammoth lists Dashboards on this data.
  2. Pick a dashboard, or click New dashboard from this chart.
  3. You see "Chart added to Sales board."

If the dashboard already has the same chart, you see "That board already has “Revenue by month”" ("It draws the same data and measure from this view.") with Add anyway, Replace it and Cancel. A dashboard has no multi-line chart, so a chart with several lines goes on as a stacked chart. If it fails: "Could not add the chart to the dashboard."

Make it live

When your agent access is at the Build level, Make it live turns a chat chart into a live chart that updates when its data refreshes. Choose Who can see it:

OptionWho sees it
People in this workspacePeople who sign in to the workspace.
Only on sites I allowPages on the sites you list, as https addresses.
Anyone with the link or embedAnyone who has the link.

Once live, the chart offers Link, Embed and Add to a dashboard. A chart only workspace members can see can't be embedded on a site.

Save to my dashboard

If your agent access is at the Explore level, a chart in a Build chat has Save to my dashboard ▾ instead. Pick New or an existing dashboard; you see "Saved to Sales board" with Open. Workspace guests don't see this option.

Charts in Ask

In an Ask chat, a chart has two actions:

  • Edit chart opens the chart's own panel beside the chat. A chart you changed shows Edited in this chat with Undo.
  • Save keeps it on a canvas (see Save an answer to a canvas).

Suggestions and chips

None of these change data by themselves. Anything that would change, delete, send out or schedule still goes through the approval steps in Plans, approvals and runs.

WhereWhat you seeWhat a click does
Under a result cardUp to two chips, such as Chart it or Do this every daySends the request as your message, for example "Send Orders to Snowflake every day".
Under a dashboard cardEmail it every MondaySends the request as your message.
Under a reply (Suggested answers)Answers to what the agent asked, or a Next step with Show me. Each may be labelled Automate, Compare, Makes a change, Look closer or Share.Sends that answer as your message.
Under a finished reply, Suggests nextUp to two follow-ups marked +Puts the text in your message box. You send it.
Beside an open question, OrAnother way to goPuts the text in your message box and closes the question.

A suggested answer with a word you can swap shows Change “last month”. Pick another value from Instead of last month: to send it, or click the word to edit it in your message box. Hide this suggestion removes a chip. While a plan waits for you to run it, no chips show.

Snippets canvases

In Ask mode, Snippets in the left navigation holds your canvases: boards where you place charts, numbers, answers and notes from your chats and arrange them. (These are not the SQL snippets in the Data Library.)

A canvas is private: only you see it, and its charts are drawn with your access each time. The header shows Private. Workspace guests see Read only and can't change a canvas.

Make and manage canvases

  • New canvas asks "What should it be called?". Type a name and click Make it.
  • Click the canvas name to rename it (up to 80 characters).
  • More for this canvas (⋯) has Theme and Delete canvas. Deleting asks "Delete “Q3 review”? The charts on it go too. Your chats keep theirs." with Keep it and Delete canvas.

An empty canvas says "Add charts, numbers and notes from your chats".

Save an answer to a canvas

Under a chart or answer in an Ask chat, click Save, pick a canvas (or name a new one and click Create), and choose Keep the chart:

OptionWhat it does
Live"Updates when the data does."
As of today"Keeps today's numbers."

You then see "Saved to Q3 review" with Open.

Add to a canvas

Add (or press A) opens a picker with three tabs.

Make oneDescribe what it should show, for example "Returns by store, this quarter", and click Show its answer. The agent writes it from your data.

Tick items and click Add 3 to canvas. With nothing yet you see "Nothing to add yet. Charts, numbers and answers from your recent chats show up here."
