Import Google Ads data into Mammoth
The Google Ads connector brings your advertising data into Mammoth as a dataset, so you can blend ad spend with sales or CRM data. You sign in with Google; there are no keys to copy. Open it from Data Library > New dataset > Connectors and search for Google Ads. Project Admins create the connection; Project Editors can start datasets from a connection the project already has. Which connectors you can add depends on your plan.
What you can bring in from Google Ads
- Tables for the Google Ads account you choose, such as campaigns, ad groups, ads, budgets and conversion actions (for example
campaign,ad_group,ad_group_ad,campaign_budgetandconversion_action). - Only the columns you tick.
- A report you describe to the agent in the chat.
The dataset can refresh daily or only when you ask.
Before you connect Google Ads
You need a Google account with access to the Google Ads account you want to report on.
Connect Google Ads to Mammoth
- Go to the Data Library, click New dataset, and choose Connectors.
- Search for Google Ads and click its tile. The connector workspace opens with the Chat showing. See Connect a database or app for the shared steps.
- In the chat, click the button to sign in with Google and allow Mammoth access.
- Under Choose account, pick the Google Ads account to read. Mammoth lists accounts that are open and have client accounts; closed accounts are left out.
Pick Google Ads tables and columns
- In Tables, open a table and tick the columns you want. They gather in Your table.
- Click Preview 100 rows to check the data.
You can also ask the agent in the chat for the report you want.
Save Google Ads data as a dataset
- Click Save as dataset.
- Enter a Dataset name and pick the folder under Save in.
- Under Keep it up to date, choose Daily or Manual.
- Click Save.
Refresh Google Ads data and choose an update method
Choosing Daily creates a Dataset Refresh automation that you can reschedule later.
After you save, a Google Ads dataset's Update method offers two options:
| Update method | What it does |
|---|---|
| Replace all data | Rebuilds the dataset from the source on every refresh |
| Add to existing data | Adds every row the refresh brings in to the rows you already have |
Google Ads refreshes don't use a key column.
Troubleshoot Google Ads connections
| Symptom | Likely cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| An account isn't listed | The account is closed or has no client accounts, or your Google account can't see it | Check the account's status in Google Ads, and sign in with a Google account that can see it |
